Inclusive Teaching and Inclusive Classroom Management

This 2-day workshop is designed with inclusivity being the goal of effective teaching practices within the classroom and behaviour management strategies that uphold the dignity of learners.

Day 1

The first day of the workshop focuses on inclusive teaching. The aim is to ensure that every learner is able to learn from the way you plan to teach.

Areas covered in this workshop include:

  • Screening learners with additional support needs
  • Identifying ways in which to assist learners
  • Assessment processes for learners requiring additional support
  • How to appropriately support the identified learners
  • Drafting and completing individualised learning plans
  • Individual accommodations
  • Accountability measures with regards to the recommendations for support
  • Including and involving parents as part of the support process
Day 2

The second day focuses on classroom management challenges and the ways in which these can be averted by considering and planning for the needs in the classroom while maintaining the dignity of the learners.

Areas covered in this workshop include:

  • Understanding procedures and consequences for learners
  • Understanding the needs of learners in maintaining a peaceful classroom
  • How to challenge everyone in the way they need to be challenged
  • Links between behaviour management and the pedagogical aspects of teaching

  • What constitutes ethical behaviour in teaching
